Data Lab

Located on the second floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (McLennan building, Room M2-37A). The Lab is open and available to users working with data who require the use of specialized data software. There are thirteen workstations available, with the following specialized software programs:

  • ArcGIS

  • Atlas.ti

  • Beyond 2020

  • ChemOffice

  • Filezilla

  • Google Earth

  • MATLAB

  • QGIS

  • R

  • SAS

  • SPSS

  • Stata

  • Stat/Transfer (numeric file conversion utility)

  • Wolfram Mathematica

  • Zotero

At the MacDonald Campus Library, both SAS and ArcGIS are available on all computers in the eZone, and Stat/Transfer is available on computers: MACD22, MACD25, MACD47, MACD48, MACD49.

Digital Scholarship Hub Software Lab

Launched March 2022

Located on the main floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (Redpath building, Room RM-16). The Digital Scholarship Hub Software Lab offers six computers with specialized software for statistical analysis, qualitative coding, digital methods, etc. that may be booked by McGill students, faculty and staff. Available software includes: NVivo, R Studio, Adobe Creative Cloud, Stata, etc. Booking a computer workstation ahead of time is recommended.
