Securities Data Company (SDC) Platinum is a historical financial transactions database with detailed information on new M&As, bonds, syndicated loans, private equity, project finance, poison pills, and more. It provides League Table rankings for investment banks and law firms, as well as helps to identify and analyze deal trends.
The SDC Platinum software has been installed on one workstation in the Humanities & Social Sciences Library, McLennan, 3rd floor (Room M3-53B).
Once you have logged on to the workstation and launched the SDC Platinum application, you will need a User Initials Login to access the application. This login info is attached to the work station. If you don’t have this login or if the login is not successful, please contact the Liaison Librarian for Management and Business using your McGill email account. Librarian info in the right-hand info-box.
Once you have successfully connected to the application, you will need to input a Project Description.
Once a connection is established, you can select the databases that you need.
Then, you can select the date range that you would like to examine.
SDC Platinum provides extensive online help in the form of training videos and PDF Users Manual. While you are in SDC Platinum software, you can access the manual by clicking on the Help button and select Users Manual for more detailed description of how to get started and SDC Platinum comprehensive functions.
Alternatively, you can download the same PDF file from the link on the right from any computer.
