One-Way ANOVA

One-Way analysis of variance (ANOVA) compares the means of two or more groups to determine whether there are significant differences between these groups.

How to run a one-way ANOVA

  1. From the menu, choose Analyze > Compare Means > One-Way ANOVA. The “One-Way ANOVA” dialog box will appear.
  2. Add dependent variable to the Dependent List and independent variable to the Factor box.

  1. Optionally, you can click Options and select Means plot (a useful way to visualize the group differences).

  1. Click OK.

The output should look something like this:

In this example, we can conclude that there are statistically significant group differences in household income between groups of different education levels (p<0.01).
