Computing Variables
- From the menu, choose Transform > Compute Variable. The “Compute Variable” dialog box will appear.
- Type the name for a new variable or an existing variable in Target Variable.
- In Numeric Expression field, build an expression to specify how to compute the variable. Optionally, you can use If to enter conditional expressions.
- For new variables, select Type & Label (under Target Variable box) to specify the data type and label.
- Click OK to compute the variable.
