NUR1 318 Chronic Illness and Palliative Health Challenges

Further to Quebec government and university directives, McGill campuses will be closed as of March 14 for two weeks. As a result, all library branches will be closed until March 30th. Library staff will continue to provide virtual reference during service hours. I will also be available via email and virtual consultation. Please register for appointments and clinics as usual and you will receive information about how to call in using Zoom or Skype.

For more information about the closure, please visit our COVID -19 | Library Closure & Service Disruptions FAQ.

What is Evidence Based Nursing Practice?

Evidence-Based Nursing Practice (EBNP)

Evidence Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) builds on the 5 Steps of the EBP process and adds 2 additional steps as shown in the diagram below.

"Evidence based practice [also sometimes referred to as Evidence informed practice] is a problem solving approach to clinical decision making that incorporates a search for the best & latest evidence, clinical expertise & assessment, and patient preference values within a context of caring" Mazurek Melnyk et al, 2005

This is an iterative process!
