Resources to support musicians' health and wellness

Musicians' health and wellness: Introduction

In the course of carrying out their profession, musicians face a particular set of challenges related to maintaining physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

This guide provides resources to support musicians' health and wellness, complementing initiatives of the Schulich School of Music in this area.

See also McGill's Student Wellness Hub and the Schulich School of Music's Student health & well-being page (injury prevention tips, mental health tips, and a list of well-being services and professionals around McGill and Montreal).

NOTE: The resources on this Library guide cannot replace the advice of a health professional who specializes in treating musicians. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort while playing or singing, please stop immediately and seek help.

If you are unsure of the available resources and need advice, please contact Jennifer Mosher, Local Wellness Advisor for the Schulich School of Music, or Andrea Creech, Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs.

Search the Library's Sofia Discovery tool

Note: Not all resources can be found through this search tool (catalogue).
