Guide to using Music Library equipment

Music stands

• Four (4) music stands are available for loan

• Model: Apex BS-32

Mighty Bright LED music stand lights

• Seven (7) stand lights are available for loan

• Uses AAA batteries, not provided

• Models: Duet and Xtra Flex

All keyboards loaned by the Music Library are intended for practice use rather than performance.

Keyboards available to current McGill borrowers:

KORG microKEY-37 MIDI keyboard (user manual, video)

• One (1) KORG MIDI is available for loan

• No built-in speaker, must connect to a laptop for playback

• This keyboard has 37 keys, which are non-weighted, and is not designed for performance

M-AUDIO KeyRig 49 MIDI keyboards (user manual, quick start guide, video)

• Two (2) M-AUDIO MIDIs are available for loan

• No built-in speaker, must connect to a computer for playback

• This keyboard has 49 keys, which are non-weighted, and is not designed for performance

Keyboards available only to current McGill Music students, faculty and staff:

Yamaha Piaggero NP-12 keyboards (user manual)

• Two (2) NP-12 keyboards are available for loan

• Has built-in speakers for standalone playing

• This keyboard has 61 keys, the keys are not fully weighted keys (bass keys are more weighted than treble keys)

Yamaha FC4A sustain pedal

• One (1) sustain pedal is available for loan

• 1/4" TS connector; this is a mono, unbalanced connection

• Similar to an acoustic piano's foot pedal

KORG GT-120 guitar/bass chromatic tuner (user manual)

• One (1) tuner is available for loan

• Handheld, electronic tuner

• Uses AAA batteries, not provided

KORG TM-40 chromatic tuner/metronome (user manual)

• One (1) tuner/metronome is available for loan

• Handheld, electronic tuner with metronome

• Uses AAA batteries, not provided
