Downtown campus:

• Maude Abbott Medical Museum: Documents the study and practice of Medicine at McGill University and its associated teaching hospitals.
  • Maude Abbott: The Canadian scientist who deserved a Nobel prize
• McGill Physics Collection: Rutherford and McPherson collections of instruments and documents.
• Redpath Museum: Free for the general public. Exhibits focus on natural history, world cultures (ethnology), and mineralogy. Popular specimens include dinosaurs, shells, mummies and a wide variety of Quebec minerals.
  • Endangered and extinct animals at the Redpath Museum: A virtual guided tour of the animals that are at risk, endangered or extinct (and which are not dinosaurs) by Ingrid Birker.

Macdonald Campus:

• Lyman Entomological Museum and Research Laboratory: More than 2.8 million specimens which are used by students and researchers in biodiversity and entomology from around the world.
• McGill Herbarium: Over 135,000 plant specimens, some of which are extinct today.
• Morgan Arboretum: A 245 hectare forest reserve.

Additional locations:

• The Gault Nature Reserve: It is located at Mont-Saint-Hilaire (QC) and protects more than 1,000 hectares of natural habitats. They have lots of outdoor activities.
