This guide is intended for editors of open access scholarly journals at McGill University. It provides an overview of the major considerations for scholarly journals and includes templates, sample statements, and recommendations for best practices.
The guide is set up to follow the general progression of what scholarly journals should consider, however not all sections may be necessary for all editors.
Open access is the practice of making research online free of charge to readers. Open access journals encourage the growth and development of scholarly communication by removing traditional barriers to research.
