Search for trustworthy information

• Complete the Health Sciences Literature Searching Basics to gain skills in searching for evidence.
   
• Use McGill's validated and evaluated resources such as our databases:  Ovid-Medline,  CINAHL, UpToDate , DynaMed Plus, or our library collections via the Sofia catalogue. See our Databases A-Z and our E-journals A-Z lists for additional resources you can trust. You will still need to appraise what you find! See Step 3.

Use the reputable resources available to you: 

• public services: Federal government, provincial governments, municipal for example Health Canada, CIHI,  Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, INESSS, INSPQ: see more.
   
• recognized national and provincial professional associations such as the Canadian Nurses Association, the Canadian Medical Association, Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Quebec, Collège des médecins du Quebec and others.
   
• international and national organizations such as WHO, IARC, Cochrane Canada and others.
   
• official data, such as health and other statistics.
