Misinformation and Disinformation in Healthcare

Evidence-Based Practice and Critical Appraisal

Regardless of where you look and what you find, a regular part of your practice should be to critically evaluate or appraise what you have found. It's important to make sure of the quality of the information or evidence you base your decisions on, and to determine whether it makes sense in your context and for the patient(s) in question, or for yourself.

EBP teaches us to look to more reliable sources of evidence, to design our searches to avoid biasing our results, and to critically appraise what we find.
