TRAM GIS Data Archive - Demographic, environment/infrastructure, and transportation-related GIS data for Montreal, Canada, and North America. Register using your McGill email to create a login.
Geogratis - a website where you can find free maps, data, and publications to use without restriction. Products include Toporama which enables users to explore multiple layers of topographic data using tools for searching place names, measuring distances, getting coordinates and more.
USGS National Map - allows visualization and download of the most current topographic base map data and products for free.

Montreal Open Data Portal - Free data on all aspects of Montreal, arranged thematically. Themes that will be of particular interest to Planning students are Urbanisme et Habitation, Infrastructures, and Environnement.
