Romanization & transliteration

To search the Library catalogue, use the Library of Congress romanization tables for Persian and Urdu.

For other ALA-LC Romanization Tables click here.

Another common romanization styles are that of the International Journal of Middle East Studies (IJMES) and the Iranian Studies scheme.

Library reopening on January 24

As of Monday, January 24, all Library branches, including stack areas, will be accessible to current McGill students, faculty, and staff. In-person reference and circulation services will resume across branches. As a result of this reopening, the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service, Pickup Service and Study Hubs will be discontinued. More information available here.
