Most site excavation reports can be found using the Subject Heading search su:Excavations (archaeology). 

• Try adding a geographic region, such as su:Excavations (archaeology) - Italy  or a specific site location such as su:Excavations (archaeology) - Italy - San Giovanni di Ruoti Site.

Another method is to complete a subject word search combining the term excavations with a country, city, or culture, e.g.:

• su:Excavations Rome
• su:Excavations Turkey
• su:Excavations Keros Island

The Journal of Roman Archaeology publishes both long and short articles of preliminary and in-progress excavation results, as well as a supplementary series, which sometimes include site reports or data-rich edited volumes born of international archaeology conferences. Review the titles for anything relevant by searching the catalogue for:

• se: International Roman Archaeology Conference series
• se: JRA supplementary series

Several publishers publish a large number of site reports. Try searching for these publishers in the catalogue by using pb: for publisher, e.g.:

• pb:(Archaeopress)
• pb:(Oxbow Books)
• Note that McGill does not own all books by these publishers. You can always widen your search to "Bibliothèques universitaires du Québec" (for other academic libraries in Quebec) or "Libraries Worldwide" and request books (for free) using Network or Interlibrary Loan right in the catalogue. Site reports are frequently published in journals. Try searching the name of the city, monument, or topic of interest in the following online journals:

• Archaeological Reports
• The Annual of the British School at Athens
• Bulletin de correspondence héllenique
  • Journal of the École française d'Athènes
• Bulletin de correspondence héllenique. Supplement
  • Supplement from l'École française d'Athènes
• Journal of Roman Archaeology
• Hesperia
  • Hesperia is the journal for the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. Many articles on the Athenian Agora and Corinth are published in the quarterly issues.
• Hesperia Supplement
  • Hesperia additionally regularly publishes a supplement series for reports from Greece.
• Mélanges de l'École française de Rome - Antiquité

The following journals also publish "in progress" archaeological work and initial reports:

• American Journal of Archaeology
• Babesch
  • McGill holds print copies from 1971-92. Scanned articles (including for years not held by McGill) can be requested through your Library Account. You can use the journal's website to find article titles from 1985 to present.
• Mouseion: journal of the Classical Association of Canada
