The Talmud

  • A History of the Talmud, by David Charles Kraemer. Cambridge : Cambridge University Press, 2019. An accessible introduction to one of the religion's most important texts.
  • Babylonian Talmud (Hebrew: Bavli Talmud). A literary work of monumental proportions which draws upon the totality of the spiritual, intellectual, ethical, historical, and legal traditions produced in rabbinic circles from the time of the destruction of the Second Temple in the first century until the Muslim conquest at the beginning of the seventh century. Sefaria open source texts online with commentaries and connections.
