R for absolute beginners #1

These are two introductory workshops in R for absolute beginners. We will take participants through the basics of creating attractive graphs with ggplot2, how the tidyverse works, importing data, and basic data manipulation using functions within dplyr, such as filter(), select() and mutate().  Participants will gain a grounding from which they can explore and plan their own data analysis projects.  We look forward to seeing you!

#DayofDH2021 Lightning Round  (open to all)

Join us to hear brief and clear presentations about ongoing DH research from faculty and graduate students in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures! Time for questions, feedback and discussion from attendees will follow the lightning round.

#DayofDH: Text Analysis with Voyant (open to all)

Celebrate #DayofDH and it's theme #MultilingualDH with this workshop on using Voyant Tools for conducting text analysis. Voyant Tools is a free tool that allows users to analyze texts and create engaging visualizations in a multitude of languages.  To celebrate #MultilingualDH we will be looking for trends & patterns in Billboard's Top Latin Songs. Bring your dancing shoes!
