3 ways to increase your search results:

  • Brainstorm synonyms for your concepts
(e.g., ice storm OR freezing rain).
  • Remove quotes around your search terms.
  • Search another database.

3 ways to decrease your search results:

  • Place quotes around search terms that you would like to appear in an article as a phrase (e.g., "ice storm").
  • Add an additional concept to your search strategy (e.g., "ice storm" AND power).
  • Search for one or more of your concepts in the title of the article.
